Agora Hospitalities appointed Thirty30 to lead the brand identity refresh for its Agora Hotels chain, with an emphasis on appealing to a new generation of Chinese travellers visiting Tokyo and other Japanese cities, searching for high quality, value for money hotel options.
Emphasising the concept of community that derives from the brand name, Agora traditionally refers to a communal meeting space in Greek, the brand identity represents a repeat pattern of 人 in a form familiar to traditional Japanese seals. The identity system was adapted to multiple locations throughout the country and applications included collaterals and corporate communications items, in-room amenities and signage.
